In an old interview, Lata Mangeshkar recalled the time when her family faced financial crisis. Lata died on Sunday from multiple organ failure.
Singer Lata Mangeshkar has ruled the Indian music industry for many years, but in an old interview she mentioned the financial crisis her family was facing.
Lata’s father, Pandit Deenanath Mangeshkar is a Marathi playwright and a traditional singer. In an old interview, when asked what life had taught her a valuable lesson, she recalled the economic hardships her family faced when she was a child. Lata had four siblings- Asha Bhosle, Hirudayanath Mangeshkar, Usha Mangeshkar and Meena Mangeshkar.
He told Quind, “Zindagi ne bahot kuch sikaya (life has taught me a lot). Respecting those below and outside. The world tends to ignore and abuse the weak. My parents taught me to always help the poor.
Lata added, “We have had some very difficult days. Our house had free meals for every guest. But the family had no food when we fell in difficult times. There are days when my siblings and I do not eat for a whole day. I learned to share what I have with others. Trust me, the joy you feel in giving is far greater than the joy you receive in receiving one. I do everything I can if someone comes to my aid. Ho sakta hai kayi lok mujhe bewakuf panake salin jatin ho (many may have deceived me). But I believe in giving what I have received. ”
Born in 1929 in pre-independence India, Lata began her singing career at the age of 73 and has sung over 25,000 songs in 36 languages in her 73 years of life. His first song was recorded at the age of 13 in the 1942 Marathi film Kidi Hasal.
The popular singer died of multiple organ failure at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai on Sunday. On January 11, he was diagnosed with Covit-19 and was admitted to hospital.

Lata, wrapped in the national flag, was taken by truck from her home in south Mumbai to Shivaji Park in Dadar on Sunday evening for her funeral.
