The thriller film, in which Vidya Durga plays the queen Singh, is accused of kidnapping and murdering a young woman who suffered a stroke, which received mixed reviews from critics. However, it failed to reflect Kahani’s critical and commercial success. Vidya, who won the Filmfare Best Actress Award for Kahani, was nominated in the category for her work in its sequel, wishing that more people would see the second film.
During a recent conversation with Bollywood Hungama, Vidya was asked about a film of Vidya that she wants more people to see. The actor who responded named it as Kahani 2. “At that time, something happened around that release,” Vidya said, as the interviewer pointed out, “money laundering, so people don’t go to theaters.”
However, the actor said that he was not sure if the film would have been better without the cash removal. I do not know if they (the audience) would have gone (to the theater) otherwise, but it is comforting to have an excuse, ”she laughed.
Vidya is currently playing the lead role of Shebali Shah in the movie Jalsa, Investigation Thriller. Released on March 18 on Amazon Prime Video directed by Suresh Triveni. In the film, Vidya plays a famous journalist, Shebali Shah plays her cook and her daughter is injured in an accident.
