Tribute to Telugu filmmaker Sarath, Nandamuri Balakrishna who died of cancer: ‘We have lost the good guy’


Telugu film director Sarath battled cancer and died on April 1, 2022. The filmmaker has produced over 20 films in his 35-year career.

Veteran Telugu film director Sarath passed away at his home on Friday morning. Sarath, who worked with actors Nandamuri Balakrishna and Suman, had previously been diagnosed with cancer. His funeral will be held on Saturday at Vaikunda Mahaprasthana in Film Nagar, Hyderabad. Sarath made his directorial debut in 1986 with the film Sadastabhu Mokudu and the film was a box office success. Along with Nandamuri, he acted in 20 more films, including some box office hits such as Sultan, Bethany, Vamsaniki Okkadu and Vamsotharakudu. He has worked with actor Suman in films like Bawa Pavamarithi, Pethindi Alludu and Chinna Alludu.
