Like many filmmakers, Digmanshu Tulia has begun to elaborate on digital work. While this is not a conscious decision, he says he enjoys exploring countless stories and content on OTT sites.
Directed by Tulia Out of Love (Two chapters), Criminal justice (Two chapters) and the latest The Great Indian Massacre, Tells us, “I really enjoyed it because you would be hungry, working with newcomers and (established) non-star cast. You do not really need a star for this (web) site. Some sites think that big eyesight requires a star. But who knew that Pratik Gandhi (actor) would become such a big star? His show scam worked and he became a star.
The filmmaker points out that while providing creative satisfaction, OTT sites allow producers to showcase their work around the world, which is not always possible in theatrical films.
“Up stage bada hi up masa ayoga. The track for OTT is high, who Masa Hai. The great feature is that the world is now our platform. Behley was the only one watching our work alongside foreigners in other countries. But now someone in Africa is looking at my work, ”he explains.
The 54-year-old believes that star-studded culture will not happen on the web because it will affect the quality of the content that is created.
However, he adds, “Some sites need stars, but some say we don’t need stars. Write a great script and shoot it right with new people.”
So will his focus now be primarily on digital media? Tulia, its last theatrical release Milan Talkies In 2019, “Some stories need a bigger format like OTT. I have some ideas before hanging up my shoes. But I think it can only work in certain cinemas. It should be released in theaters. I’m not saying I will stop taking to the cinema. Even if it is released directly to digital, the process will be the same. But I will continue to make films even if they are released in theaters. ”
