Actor Ram Charan has announced that his upcoming RRR movie has been postponed. The film, directed by SS Rajamouli, was earlier announced to be released on January 7.
Actor Ram Charan has said that he does not regret the much-anticipated RRR release being postponed once again. He said it was a film they had worked on for more than three years and should come at the right time.
RRR, directed by SS Rajamouli and starring Jr. NDR and Ram Charan in the lead roles, is expected to release worldwide on January 7. The release was postponed due to the sudden increase in Govt-19 cases across the country.
Speaking at the pre-release ceremony of the upcoming Rowdy Boys film in Telugu; Ram Charan has commented that the RRR release has been postponed again.
“Our film should have been released for this Sankaranti. I have no regrets about not being able to do that. We spent three and a half years on the RRR, and because we worked so hard it had to come at the right time. I think adults like Rajamouli and our producer Tanaya will decide when to release, ”said Ram Charan.
In RRR, Junior NDR shares screen space with Ram Charan for the first time. The film is a pre-independence fiction of the 1920s and is based on the lives of two real revolutionaries, Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Beem.
Speaking about the project at the launch of the film in 2019, Rajamouli said: “It will be a fantasy. There are gaps we do not know about in the lives of these legendary freedom fighters. We do not know what happened in their lives during these years. Through this fantasy we want to show what would have happened in their lives and what would have happened if they had met and bonded.
