He said the suspension order for Constable Jitendra Shinde was issued on Tuesday and a departmental inquiry has been launched against him. He served as Amitabh Bachchan’s bodyguard from 2015 to August 2021, after he was fired by Mumbai Police Commissioner Hemant Nagrale for allegedly exceeding his annual income limit. 1.5 crore. When asked about the exact reason for Jitendra’s suspension, a senior Mumbai police official said the constable had traveled to Dubai and Singapore at least four times without informing his superiors.

Jitendra has opened a security firm in his wife’s name that protects the Bachchan family, but the transactions about the fees are reflected in his bank account, not in his wife’s bank accounts, the official said.

At first glance, Jitendra bought some property which he did not disclose, he added. After Shinde was suspended, the Mumbai Police Commissioner set up an inquiry committee headed by Additional Commissioner of Police (South) Dilip Sawant.

Amitabh is given X Division protection and is guarded by four police constables in two shifts.
