Actor Kareena Kapoor on Sunday responded to the Pune Police’s Govt-19 campaign based on her grandfather actor Raj Kapoor’s Mera Naam Joker movie. On Instagram, Kareena shared a media video in which she sees a policeman singing Ai Boy Zara Tek Ke Salo with a twist.
In the video, a policeman is heard singing a song with new lyrics, telling people to wear masks and telling them how the corona virus is not the common cold or flu. Kareena shared the video, titled “Brilliant Video! (Applause Emoji) punepolicecity #RajKapoor (Red Heart Emoji)”.
Kareena shared the video on the day when 41,327 new Govt-19 cases were reported in the last 24 hours in Maharashtra, ANI news agency quoted the state health department as saying. The state has reported eight new cases of the Omigron variant of Govit-19, bringing the state number of Omigrans to 1,738.
Raj Kapoor’s Mera Naam Joker, released in 1970, is a play directed, edited and produced by Raj Kapoor under his RK Films banner. The film is written by Kwaja Ahmed Abbas. The film stars Raj Kapoor, Simi Karewal, Rishi Kapoor, Ksenia Riabinkina and Padmini. The film also stars Manoj Kumar, Dharmendra, Tara Singh and Rajendra Kumar.
Kareena and Karisma Kapoor are the daughters of veteran actor Randhir Kapoor, who is the eldest son of Raj Kapoor. Randhir, who was married to actor Babita, later split up.
Kareena and Karisma often share throwback photos of their family members on Instagram. After the death of their uncle Rajiv Kapoor in February last year, Kareena shared a post. It features Raj, Randhir, Rajiv and Rishi. The post was titled, “Broken but Strong.”

Meanwhile, Kareena is next set to star opposite actor Aamir Khan in Lal Singh Satta. The film is a remake of Tom Hanks’ 1994 classic Forest Comb. Lal Singh Satta, Naga Chaitanya and Mona Singh, who are scheduled to release in April this year, are also in the cast.
