Hindustan Times review, “Bhimla Naik Ayyappan and Koshy is an over-commercialized remake of the film that failed to recreate the original magic, but still works in its own ways, thanks to the luxury of Pawan Kalyani and Rana Tagore’s impressive performance. It is about bending their masculinity and doing nothing to prove who is strong.Bhimla Nayak goes on a very safe path and does not dare to spoil the soul of the original story. However, it gets smaller. The changes are in line with the sentiments of Telugu and also to attract big fans of Pawan Kalyani.
Meanwhile, Ayyappan and Koshy are set to be remade in Tamil with Sasikumar and Sarathkumar in the lead roles. Producer Kathiresan has acquired the rights to the Tamil remake.
