Wrestler Babita Bogat has been announced as the fourth contestant in the reality show Lock Up hosted by Kangana Ranaut. Earlier, TV actor Nisha Rawal, stand-up comedian Munawar Farooqi and model-turned-actress Poonam Pandey were confirmed to be on the show. In a promo shared on Instagram, Babita said, “Apne mere uber pani film do teki hi hoki. Login Up Mine A Rahi Hoon Asli Thangal Karne (You must have seen the picture taken centering on my life. But now I am going to give you a real fight) ”
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Dungal fought against the social oppression of wrestler Mahavir Bogat and coached his daughters Geeta Bogat and Babita Bogat to become world-class wrestlers as he clinched the undefeated gold medal. The film stars Aamir Khan, Fatima Sana Sheikh and Sanya Malhotra in the lead roles.
Babita won the gold medal in the women’s freestyle 55 kg category at the 2014 Commonwealth Games. She made her television debut in 2019 with her husband Vivek Suhak on the dance reality show Nach Polly 9.
Babita said in a statement about being a part of Lock Up, “I’m so excited to be coming to a show like Lock Up because I have never done a show like this live 24 hours a day. So I am very happy and at the same time excited to be a part of this show. People will know what I am through this show. Earlier the audience got to know me through the movie Dungeon. So, now people will know my true personality, my likes and dislikes and how I am in my real life as a person.
16 celebrities in Lock Up will be jailed for 72 days and denied even basic facilities. “You (the contestants) have to face your trials, your demons, your insecurities and reveal your dark truths,” Kangana said at the show’s launch event.
