After the 2013 film Sanjeer with Priyanka Chopra, Ram Charan revealed why he did not act in Hindi films.

Actor Ram Charan has said that he has not appeared in any Hindi films since the release of Zanjeer in 2013. In a new interview, he added that choosing the right image is very important. He said he would do any film when the opportunity arose.

Directed by Apurva Lakhia, Zanjeer is an action film and shot in both Hindi and Telugu. In Telugu, the film is titled Dooban. The film is a remake of the 1973 film of the same name by actor Amitabh Bachchan. Zanjeer is Ram Charan’s Hindi debut film. The film also stars Priyanka Chopra, Sanjay Dutt, Prakash Raj, Atul Kulkarni and Mahi Gill.

In an interview with Indian Express, Ram Charan said, “Everything is about intuition, not what I do… I see a lot of your pictures and I like them. But, perhaps, it could have happened now with Tarak and SS Rajamouli with RRR. We are ready to act in Indian films.

He added, “RRR is a Hindi film because it is a Telugu film, it is a pan-India film. Today, the gates of the industry have been opened by the efforts of many filmmakers, especially Rajamouli. We have ceased to be regional, we have become part of a larger Indian film industry, barriers have been broken. So, if the opportunity arises, why, I will do any film. The size of the RRR and the number of languages in which the film is released will break all barriers. It’s about excitement. “And it’s very important to choose the right image. We need to feel the excitement of making a film, no matter how big the RRR or any other story.”

Ram Charan will next star in SS Rajamouli’s RRR with Junior NDR, Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgan. The film, which was slated to release on January 7, has been postponed.

Set in pre-independence India, RRR is a fictional film of the young days of freedom fighters Komaram Beem and Alluri Sitarama Raju, portrayed by Jr. NDR and Ram Charan respectively.
